Despite solid reviews (including from us), DJ Hero isn't selling quite as well as Activision would like. Perhaps the $120 price tag has something to do with it? Could be. The fact remains that the game is quite good in spite of that hefty price tag, but people don't really "get it" until they actually get their hands on it.
To get the game in the hands of more people, Activision is giving away 500 DJ Hero demo kits. They come with a wired turntable controller and a game disc with just a few songs on it. The idea is to give people a taste and hope that they'll buy the real game. Will it work? Who knows, but free stuff is always awesome.
