Project: Snowblind Review
Project: Snowblind is a first-person-shooter that is fast, fun, and incredibly well put together. Solid single and multiplayer modes make Snowblind a game that is well worth checking out.
Psychonauts Review
Psychonauts has been in development for what feels like forever, but thankfully all of that time was well spent and developer Double Fine has crafted a truly incredible game. Great graphics and sound, lovable characters, funny dialogue, intuitive and fun gameplay - this game has it all. Psychonauts is one of the best games on the Xbox.
Pump It Up: Exceed Review
Picture a regular Dance Dance Revolution game. Now imagine that the arrows have been turned so they are diagonal and an extra button has been added to the center. If that concept just blew your mind, you need to buy Pump It Up: Exceed. Dance fans will have an absolute blast with Pump It Up. Find out all of our details right here.
Rainbow Six: Lockdown Review
Rainbow Six: Lockdown is the latest Tom Clancy terrorist hunt for the Xbox. The multiplayer is pretty solid, but the single player experience leaves a lot to be desired which makes the game pretty hard to recommend. Find out all of the details right here.
RalliSport Challenge 2
Check out About.com's review of RalliSport Challenge 2.
Raze's Hell Review
Raze's Hell is an interesting third-person-shooter where you finally get your chance to take out your frustrations on some cute and cuddly little creatures. If that sounds appealing to you, this game is definitely worth playing. Find out all about it in our full review.
Red Dead Revolver
Third person shooting action in the wild west. Can't go wrong there. Check out our review of Red Dead Revolver.
Second Sight Review
Second Sight is a psychic power filled third-person shooter from developer Free Radical. The gameplay is solid and you are given a lot of freedom to choose just how you want to play. It won't keep you busy for very long, though. Read our full review to find out if Second Sight is worth a purchase or just a rental.
Serious Sam II Review
Serious Sam II is a no-nonsense, straight up, in your face, take no prisoners type of first-person-shooter. There is no room for epic storylines or intricately designed set pieces here, instead it is 100% pure fast paced action and mindless shooting. Honestly, it makes Doom 3 (which is pretty darn simple and linear) look like brain surgery. That isn’t a bad thing, though, because you get to shoot a lot of stuff with some really cool guns. Some days, that is exactly what you’re looking for.
Sid Meier's Pirates! Review
Sid Meier's Pirates! is an open-ended, go aanywhere, do anything pirate simulator set on the Caribbean in the 1600's. You have free reign to do anything you want - including not doing much pirating at all and instead being a peaceful trader - and there really is something in this game that will appeal to pretty much everyone. Due to the huge amount of stuff to do and its deceptively simple design, Pirates is one of the most addictive games to come around in a while. Find out more right here.
Silent Scope Complete Review
Silent Scope Complete is a collection of four Silent Scope games that have appeared in arcades and on consoles dating back to 1999. The concept is cool - you are a sniper and get to practice your marksmanship on a bunch of terrorists - but the execution leaves quite a bit to be desired. Poor light gun support and very little evolution between the four games make this set pretty disappointing even though you are getting four games for the price of one. Read all about it here.
SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos Review
SVC Chaos is SNK's attempt at pitting the great SNK and Capcom characters against eachother. They almost pull it off, but a lot of little problems drag this one down. Stick with Capcom vs. SNK 2 if you really want to get your groove on with some of the greatest fighters in history. Read our full review for more.
Sonic Mega Collection Plus Review
Sonic Mega Collection Plus is a compilation of 20 games from Sega's Genesis and Game Gear systems. For a measly $20, this is a great deal. Read our full review to find out more.
Soul Calibur II
Soul Calibur has been on top of the 3D fighting genre ever since its 1999 Dreamcast debut. Does its sequel continue that dominance? Check out our review to find out.
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2 is the best superhero game out there. Check out our review.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Review
Sam Fisher is back to sneak through the shadows in the best Splinter Cell game yet. Chaos Theory no longer restricts you with alarm or casualty limits and the overall experience is much better because of it. This is the Splinter Cell for people who hate Splinter Cell. Read all about it right here.
SSX On Tour Review
SSX On Tour is the fourth game in EA’s snowboarding series and it is arguably the best of the bunch. The level designs are better, the controls are tighter, the sense of speed is better, and the overall presentation is very, very slick. There isn’t any online play, which is disappointing, but what is here is pretty darn good and there is more than enough to keep you busy for days. SSX On Tour is definitely worth picking up.
Star Wars Battlefront II Review
Star Wars Battlefront is the biggest selling Star Wars game of all time, so it should be no surprise we’re getting a sequel. What is surprising, though, is just how much better Battlefront II is than the original. Every single aspect of the game has been improved and new features such as space combat and the ability to use Jedi and other hero characters just seal the deal. More planets, more vehicles, more characters, more weapons – it all adds up to be more fun.
Star Wars Battlefront Review
Star Wars fans itching for more Star Wars videogame action are in for a treat with Battlefront. It lets you recreate all of the coolest battles from the movies complete with vehicles such as X-Wings and AT-ATs. This is a solid shooter that is a lot of fun to play, and gets even better when you take it online, so it is highly recommended. Find out why it is so good in our full review.
Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Review
Revenge of the Sith delivers what we have wanted all along - lots and lots of lightsaber combat - but the way it is presented here leaves a lot to be desired. Shallow gameplay, short overall length, and a feeling that you just paid $50 for an ad intended to get you hyped up for a movie you are already hyped for will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Obsessive Star Wars fans will dig it, but the force is definitely not strong with this one.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Review
The original KOTOR is one of the best games of this generation. Now, a year and a half later, a sequel has been released. Does KOTOR II: The Sith Lords reach the same level of greatness as its predecessor? Find out in our full review.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the best game on Xbox. Great RPG gameplay with lightsabers just never gets old, and KOTOR offers all that and a lot more.
Star Wars: Republic Commando Review
LucasArts does the unthinkable and gives us a Star Wars game that not only doesn't have X-Wings or TIE Fighteers but it doesn't even have Jedi. It turns out that idea isn't as crazy as it sounds and Republic Commando is actually an incredible game.
Stolen Review
The stealth action genre is pretty crowded these days so in order to stand out a new game needs to do something special. Stolen starts out with a cool concept and interesting main character but the gameplay is a major letdown. Find out more in our full review.
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection Review
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection offers up a special remixed version of Street Fighter II called Hyper Street Fighter II as well as a perfect port of Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Third Strike alone is worth the MSRP, but the icing on this already delicious cake is that you can play both games online via Xbox Live. Fighting fans need to get this. Find out all about it right here in our full review.
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse Review
Stubbs the Zombie is like a dream game for zombie fans. We finally get the chance to play as a zombie and eat brains, tear people in half, and beat people to death with their own arm. If any part of that sentence was appealing to you, you should go buy Stubbs the Zombie right now. If you aren’t a zombie fan, though, there isn’t anything new or terribly exciting going on here. Just some good old fashioned horror/comedy that zombie lovers will love to love.
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction
Atari's latest Test Drive breaks the traditional Test Drive mold of more traditional racing and introduces dirt track races and demolition derbies into the mix. Find out how the game holds up in our full review.
The Guy Game
The Guy Game is a trivia game at its core, but for its intended audience that is far from the main attraction. This game is rated "M" for Mature and is definitely not for children. Read our review to find out more.
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction Review
Comic book properties are super hot these days and Ultimate Destruction is a great example of why. It really lets you do everything the Hulk can do and, lets face it, smashing stuff is a heck of a lot of fun. Put on your mean face and your purple pants and check out our full review for all of the details.
The King of Fighters 2002/2003 Review
The King of Fighters 2002/2003 is a two-disc set that gives you both the 2002 and 2003 entries in the long running King of Fighters series. For a mere $40 you get two solid 2D fighters, both will full online capabilities, so it is a pretty good value. King of Fighters fans and newcomers alike will find a lot to like in King of Fighters 2002/2003.
The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age Review
Imagine Final Fantasy X with a Lord of the Rings theme, and that is pretty much what The Third Age is like. Find out whether that is a good or a bad thing in our full review.
The Punisher Review
The Punisher is a third-person action game where you step into the blood stained boots and trenchcoat of Frank Castle in his ongoing quest to destroy every last criminal in the city. Fans of the comic will love it, but for anyone else read our full review to find out if The Punisher is right for you.
The Sims 2 Review
The Sims 2 has finally made the jump from PC to Xbox but the results aren’t nearly as good as we would have liked. Key features of the PC version such as advanced AI and being able to have kids are missing here which makes the overall experience pretty dull. Without smart Sims reacting to all of your actions or interesting goals such as raising children, The Sims 2 is just a lot of collecting junk and going to the bathroom and not a whole lot else.
The Suffering: Ties That Bind Review
The Suffering was a big hit for Midway last year so it should be no surprise that we already have a sequel. Ties That Bind closely follows the action horror blueprint created by the original so the foundation is solid, but it is hard to shake the feeling that you have done all of this before. It is still a fun game that horror fans will enjoy, but it seems to be a step or two behind the best of both the survival horror and third person shooter genres it so desperately wants to emulate.
The Warriors Review
Based on the film of the same name, The Warriors delivers fast paced, beat-em-up action that is easy to get into but also surprisingly varied. Most brawlers are all “punch punch punch, kick kick kick” but here you have lots of ways to dish out punishment and battling multiple enemies has never been better implemented than in The Warriors. The game also does a good job of expanding on the story of the movie. It isn’t the prettiest game out there, but The Warriors is definitely a lot of fun.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 Review
Golf is a fun game, but most of us can’t drive the ball 300+ yards and our experience with championship courses is limited to what we see on TV. That is why a game like Tiger Woods 06 is so great. We get to live the life of Tiger, take on a number of fantastic courses, and strut around like we actually know what we’re doing. Tiger Woods 06 features a ton of real world courses, real world golfers, and enough modes to keep you busy for a good long time.
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect Review
The TimeSplitters series has always featured fast paced FPS action and Future Perfect continues that tradition well. What has changed is that the graphics have been smoothed out and the controls have been tightened up to provide a FPS that still has an "arcade" feel but is also sharp enough to compete with the other great shooters on the Xbox. Read all about it right here in our full review.
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland Review
The Tony Hawk games have been on a downward trend ever since THUG came out. They aren’t bad, not by any means, but THUG 1 and 2 and now Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland definitely lack that magic that the four Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles had. The gameplay in THAW is just as good as it always has been, but the new levels are only so-so and the story mode is pretty much terrible. Xbox Live play makes the game worth checking out, but the overall package could have been better.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x Review
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x puts the first two THPS games into one package along with new levels and improved graphics. This is classic Tony Hawk's Pro Skater here, and it is arguably the best skate game on Xbox.
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Review
THUG2 is here and it is the biggest Tony Hawk game ever. Not only does it have a story mode like the first Tony Hawk's Underground, but it also features a classic mode filled with old school levels and goals. The excellent gameplay returns with a few tweaks and is better than ever. THUG2 stands among the best games in the series. Find out what makes it so good in our full review.
Tony Hawk's Underground
Check out About Skateboarding Guide Steve Cave's review of Tony Hawk's Underground.
Tron 2.0: Killer App Review
Tron 2.0 should be a fun experience since it has such a cool movie to build off of, but that isn't the case. The Tron-ness is there, but the gameplay can't quite hold up. Get the full story in our review.
