- Title: GameKeeper Wire Gaming Racks
- Platform:Multi
- From: Atlantic Inc.
- Pros: Easy to put together; very sturdy and solid; lots of ventilation for your systems; infinitely expandable
- Cons: Price seems a bit high, but is comparable to other living room furniture; PS3 wont fit in the vertical space
What Is It?
The two products I am covering today are the GameKeeper Three-Tier Wire Gaming Center and the GameKeeper Four-Tier Wire Gaming Tower. Both of them are built the same way, using the same materials, and keep your systems cool just the same. The differences are that the Tower gives you a choice between wheels or leveling feet, it is larger and can hold more stuff, comes with more hooks to store controllers and games, and it has a pull out game storage rack on the bottom. The other difference between the two units is the price. The Three-Tier Wire Gaming Center will set you back $39.99 while the Four-Tier Wire Gaming Tower costs $59.99. Other than these things, both of them give you plenty of game storage space, hooks to store controllers, space to safely place an Xbox 360 upright, and they also look pretty nice.
Assembly

One other thing that is definitely worth noting is that these products are completely expandable. You can connect several units together (connecting them by overlapping shelves on the same set of corner posts) and make a larger unit in whatever size or shape you need. Also, since the Gaming Center and Gaming Tower both use the same components, you can mix and match to get different sizes and shapes. Unlike an entertainment center or TV stand that will only hold X amount of stuff, the GameKeeper Wire Gaming Center and Tower can grow along with your collection, which is very nice.
Performance
When you get everything assembled the way you like it, you really cant argue with the performance. They look surprisingly good and the design is nice and simple so so they arent going to clash with the rest of your living room the way most gaming furniture does. For a dorm room, kids bedroom, game room, family room, etc., these racks are absolutely perfect. And you really cant argue with the fact that they can and do keep your systems cool. Youll have 100% clean flowing air all the way around your system, which is a much better solution than strapping on a gimmicky fan to the back of your 360 that may or may not actually be helping. Another thing I really like is that thanks to the specially designed section for storing your Xbox 360 or PS2 vertically, I finally feel comfortable with setting up my system that way. If you have kids or pets or goofy friends, setting up your system vertically is usually just asking for trouble, but with the GameKeeper wire racks, your system is safely held vertical and cant fall over.A couple things of note. First off, the PlayStation 3 wont fit into the vertical slot. It is too fat. Also, I wouldnt recommend storing your PS3 on one of the shelves next to your vertical Xbox 360. It would just blow hot air out of the right side of the system at the heart of your Xbox 360, which can and will cause your Xbox to overheat and fail. Keep these things in mind when you are setting up your systems.
Bottom Line

You can buy the Three-Tier Wire Gaming Center or the Four-Tier Wire Gaming Tower along with extra controller or game storage hooks from the GameKeeper website. Atlantic also offers specially made backpacks and cases designed for taking your systems on the go and you can see them at that link as well.
