What Is It?

Gameplay
The way the game actually plays is like this. There are different types of puzzles and questions and you have to answer them. Sometimes you will watch a movie clip and then answer questions afterwards. Sometimes youll be looking at a picture with an actor or object removed, and you have to figure out what is missing. Or other puzzles have you looking at a list of clues and have to figure out what actor or movie they are talking about. There are a bunch of different puzzle types and most of them are a lot of fun. And you are given instructions before each new puzzle type, so it is very easy for everyone to play.
The only complaint I have is that the presentation is pretty terrible. The whole premise is that you are a movie expert and you have to help some bumbling studio guy put his archives back in order. It gives the game some sense of context, but it is a movie trivia game and really, really, really didnt need all of this extra fluff to be fun. Thankfully, you can skip over just about all of the little goofy cutscenes and transitions that have to do with this story and just jump straight to the trivia. The other problem is that the announcer in the game is completely obnoxious and repeats the same stuff over and over and over again. Thankfully, however, the core gameplay of movie trivia is more than fun enough to make up for any deficiencies in the presentation. The movie clips and pictures and all of those important things are plenty clear and well presented, so no worries there.
Bottom Line
If you are a fan of movie trivia and have friends or family around to play with, Scene It! Lights, Camera, Action is a very solid game that is absolutely worth picking up. It can still be fun to play by yourself, but the real appeal is to play with other people and if you dont plan on playing it with others, I really cant recommend it as highly. But from anywhere from two players on up, Scene It! Lights, Camera, Action is an absolutely fantastic party game that everyone, not just gamers, will really enjoy.
