Guide Review - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x is a compilation of the first two THPS games that features greatly improved graphics, some new levels, and a handful of other improvements. This game is a trip down memory lane to a time where the Tony Hawk games were very different from the Underground games we have today. The levels were smaller, a two-minute timer governed everything we did, and the focus of the experience was purely on skating. Completing all of the goals in one round and getting the highest score possible kept you coming back for more like nothing else I can think of.You start THPS2x by playing through all of the levels of the original THPS2. When you finish that, the special 2x levels - which include a nightclub, construction site, and a skatepark - open up. Beat them and then the levels from the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater are unlocked. What makes this game so special and so worthwhile is that you can now use the manual move from THPS2 in the original THPS levels. All of the classic levels are just as you remember them and the gameplay is as perfect as ever.
Graphically, THPS2x isn't up to the standards of the more recent Tony Hawk games, but it looks really great compared to the original games. Everything is sharp and great looking.
The sound is also very well done. The music from THPS1 and 2 is present but youc an also use custom soundtracks, which is nice.
Overall, THPS2x is a must own game for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans.
