Guide Review - Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man 2 is simply the best Spider-Man and even the best superhero game out there. No other game gives you complete control over your favorite superhero like SM2, and you also have the freedom to explore the entire island of Manhattan from the top of the highest building to the seediest night club to the Statue of Liberty. You can see and do it all and that is what makes Spider-Man 2 so great.The story in Spider-Man 2 loosely follows the story of the movie. You travel to the same locations and do a lot of the same things, but the storytelling is left to the movie, so don't worry about having anything spoiled if you haven't seen it.
Gameplay is where Spider-Man 2 really shines. You can swing through the city with the greatest of ease, jump extremely high and over long distances, use spider sense, and basically do everything Spider-Man can do. You can use your web to drag enemies around and even swing them around your head and you can then tie them up to lampposts when you are done with them. As you complete missions and find one of the hundreds of hidden items in the game, you get hero points which you can then spend on new moves and techniques.
Graphically, SM2 is very impressive. Everything looks very realistic and Spider-Man animates very well. People on the street lack detail, though, which looks weird since the rest of the game is so good.
Spider-Man 2 is simply excellent. Give it a rent at least, but buy it if you are a Spidey fan.
