Guide Review - RalliSport Challenge 2 Rreview (Xbox)
Rally racing isn't exactly in the mainstream in the US and, thus, rally racing videogames aren't all that popular. Occasionally, a great game will come out that will be accepted by the masses, but most rally games are too difficult and complicated for most people. RalliSport Challenge 2 attempts to change all of that, and it does a pretty good job.There are five different styles of racing in RSC2. Rally races are point to point races wehre you compete against a clock. Rallycross races are head to head races against other cars where you race around a track. Ice races take place on icy and snowy roads. Crossover races feature a track with two lanes that follow each other around the track and you compete against another car. Eventually, the two lanes cross over and you have to take another lap around the track in this new lane. The best races, however, are the hill climb events. Racing both up and down steep mountain roads is an absolute thrill.
The racing in RSC2 is a mix of simulation and arcade, but mostly arcade. You can make minor adjustments to your car such as gearing and steering sensitivity, but most of the time you can use the default setup and be just fine. The beauty of rally racing is that you can powerslide through pretty much every corner, and when you put together a long string of perfect corners it is practically a work of art. RSC2 recreates this great feel perfectly and is loads of fun.
RSC2 is an excellent game that can be found for cheap. Buy it.
