Guide Review - Marvel vs. Capcom 2
There are 56 characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 including all of your Street Fighter favorites along with other characters from Capcom including Jill from Resident Evil and Mega Man. On the Marvel side, you can play as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, and Venom as well as the X-Men. For the most part, the characters are very balanced so the fighting is fun no matter who you choose to use.In Marvel vs. Capcom 2, you choose a team of three characters and fight in tag team style matches. You can tag your partners in at any time and you can also call on them to unleash special attacks from the sidelines to help you out. As you fight, you build up a special meter which, when full, allows you to unleash giganticbscreen filling special moves. You can link these special moves between your characters so they form a chain or you can let all three characters attack at once for massive damage. The special meter system is very impressive and the moves you can perform are specific to each character and very cool.
Graphically, MvsC2 is very impressive. The characters are all very detailed and animated very well. Up until Guilty Gear X2 was released last year, MvsC2 was the best looking 2D fighter out there. In the four years since its Dreamcast release it has held up very well.
To put it simply, if you haven't already played the PS2 or DC versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, you owe it to yourself to get this. It is fantastic and well worth the trouble of tracking down a copy.
