This year's tournament will feature Tekken 5, Tekken Tag Tournament, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, SNK vs. Capcom 2, Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Some bonus games were also voted on which included Mortal Kombat Deception, Dead or ALive 2 Ultimate, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Darkstalkers Vampire Savior, King of Fighters 2002, Soul Calibur II, and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. The bonus games that make it into the tournament won't be revealed until the show. All in all, the lineup is very, very good and the best part is that you can get any one of these games along with a decent stick (I recommend the X-Arcade stick) and practice at home.
This year, Evolution is taking place in Las Vegas Nevada at the Green Valley Ranch Resort & Spa on August 12-14th. In addition to room fees (obviously), there is a $20 cover charge and a $10 charge for each tournament you enter.
If you can't make it to the tournament but still want to watch, you can purchase DVDs that cover all of the hottest matches from all of the games. You will be absolutely floored by the skill of these players. They will do things that you didn't even think possible. If you are a hardcore fighting game fan, you need to see these DVDs because you'll definitely learn a few things. You can buy the 2003 and 2004 DVDs right here.
