After playing Guitar Hero: Metallica like crazy and being exhausted at the end of the day, I started wondering about how good of a workout Guitar Hero or Rock Band really is. How To Get Xbox Live for Less Than $50 a Year

One of the arguments the competition makes against the Xbox 360 is that their online services are free while Xbox Live Gold costs $50. Beyond the “Well, it costs money because it is better” counter-argument, you can also rub their face in the fact that you didn’t actually pay $50 for a year of Live. How, you ask? Find out all of the details on how to get Xbox Live for less right here.

The Xbox 360 Games of 2008 - In One Sentence Each

To wrap up our 2008 Xbox 360 Games coverage, we borrowed an idea from NeoGAF where you describe a game with one sentence. Some are funny, some aren’t, but all of them are like super secret inside jokes that no one will understand unless they played that particular game. If you have any jokes or ideas about the Xbox 360’s 2008 lineup you’d like to share, send them in and we might add them to the list.

2008 Xbox 360 Games Special Awards

Our Top 10 Xbox 360 Games of 2008 list is out of the way, but the awards don’t stop there. We also have picks for Developer and Publisher of the year, Most Overhyped, Most Underappreciated, and more. We didn’t worry about Best Graphics or Best Music or specific genre awards, however, because those categories would have mostly been identical to our 2008 Top Ten list anyway, so we focused on other categories instead.

Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero: World Tour (X360)

At last, the two heavyweights meet on an even playing field. Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band 2 are both very good music games, but which one comes out on top? Which one has the better songs? Which one has the better instruments? Find the answers to all of these questions and more right here.

Guitar Hero: World Tour Instruments Overview

We’re kind of reaching critical mass as far as plastic instruments go. Everyone has a stack of guitars and at least one drum kit (or three), and I know I’m not alone in my fear that one day they will bind together to form a super robot that will enslave us all. We wouldn’t be feeding this plastic monster if the new instruments coming out every year weren’t so darn good, though, so it is a double-edged sword. Find out how the Guitar Hero: World Tour instruments stack up right here.

Best and Worst Games for Boosting Your Xbox 360 Gamerscore

One of the best things about the Xbox 360 is the achievements that are built into every game. They give you a little extra motivation to play a game longer than you would have in the past in order to add a few points to your gamerscore. I know, I know, your gamerscore is meaningless, but there is nothing quite as satisfying as playing a game and hearing the little sound effect and the “Achievement Unlocked” window pops up. Here is a list of the best and worst games for improving your score.

How To Choose The Right Games For Your Kids

If you play a lot of video games, more than likely your kids are going to want to play them too. That is a good thing, of course, because sharing is caring, but it isn't such a good thing when the only games in your collection are Grand Theft Auto, Halo, Gears of War, and Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball. In this article we'll give you tips on how to choose games that are more suitable for kids as well as how to get the best experience for both you and your kids.

Rock Band 2 Instruments Overview

A big question that always comes up when a new Rock Band or Guitar Hero is released is how the new instruments compare with the older ones. Are the Rock Band 2 wireless guitars and drums worth the investment? Find out right here.

The instruments from Rock Band 2 will also be fully compatible as well. Rock on! Check out the full song list right here.

Xbox Live Survival Guide for Female Gamers

We all know that Xbox Live can be a scary place, but just imagine how different and downright disgusting it can be through the eyes of the fairer sex. Female gamers get singled out and harassed simply because they are girls trying to join the boys club that is Xbox Live, and that just isn’t fair. So we present to you now an article inspired by a reader e-mail (thanks Penny!) – The Xbox Live Survival Guide for Gals.
