I can only imagine the planning meeting for making a Mass Effect anime.
"Great idea fellas! Take a totally Western developed and focused game series, and make a Japanese anime about it. Make sure the main character is a character who everyone that played the games absolutely hates. The story doesn't matter here, so stomp all over the story from the best game in the series. Oh, and don't bother making it actually look decent, bottom-tier anime visuals are enough for American fans. Then, don't release it until several years after it would have been relevant." - Boss
