When it was first revealed, it seemed like Bungie leaving Microsoft to work on new projects might mean bad things for the Halo series. Bungie built Halo from the ground up and turned it into one of the biggest franchises in gaming, after all. Microsoft wasn't too worried, though, and spent the last several years headhunting talent from other companies to put together the best possible team of people who were both passionate about Halo, but who also knew what they were doing when it came to shooters. It was a team built from the ground up to make great games.
The result was 343 Industries, and its first 100% in-house developed Halo title, Halo 4, not only ably carries on where Bungie left off, but surpasses Bungie's Halo games in many ways. Halo 4 still definitely plays like Halo, but with the presentation and overall polish level kicked up to 11. Our full review has all of the details.
