FIFA Soccer 13 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Reviews (X360)

Something funny happened this year when reviewing FIFA 13 and Pro Evo 2013. I actually received Pro Evo a few days ahead of FIFA, and during that time I was convinced that Konami was making an epic comeback. Things were going to be different this time around. The gameplay was awesome and FIFA had better watch out. Then FIFA 13 showed up and put any of those silly thoughts to rest.

As fas as gameplay goes, Pro Evo 2013 and FIFA 13 are as close as the two series have probably ever been. They are both really fun and really good, but actually really distinct from each other in how you play and why they are fun. Where FIFA 13 takes the lead, however, is in everything else. It is much more fully featured, has much better presentation, and is just overall a more complete game than PES. Pro Evo plays well enough, though, that you can't just dismiss it entirely especially if things like having a truck load of licensed teams (that you may or may not actually care about) or the Ultimate Team card game aren't that important to you.

Gameplay is king here, so our advice is to play the demos available for both games on Xbox Live and decide which one you have more fun with. You can't really go wrong either way. Check out our full reviews for each game for all of the details.
