Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition Info

The GOTY Edition of Batman: Arkham City is a lot of things. It's a great package of DLC for a great game, it has the worst box art we've seen in a long time, and it's definitely worth buying—just avert your eyes from the cover lest you go blind. What the Arkham City GOTY Edition Comes With

It includes the full original Batman: Arkham City game, plus Catwoman, along with the Nightwing Bundle, Robin Bundle, Challenge Map Pack, and most of the extra character skins released for the game. It also features the brand new Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC missions. The game comes on two discs. One is the game disc you play off of, and the other holds the DLC and lets you install the DLC to your Xbox hard drive.

The DLC Disc

The DLC disc is only compatible with the GOTY version of Arkham City. It won't work with the original version of Arkham City.

You can install the first disc, the game disc, to your hard drive like normal from the Xbox 360 dashboard. For the DLC disc, though, you have to start it up and select the DLC you want to install from the menu. This way, you can select to install either all of the DLC or just the ones you don't have if you downloaded those already.

No Separate Achievements for Arkham City GOTY Edition 

Unlike the GOTY version of Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was treated as a separate game (and had different saves), you could earn the achievements twice. The GOTY version of Arkham City's achievements contributes to the same list as the original AC release. Warner Bros.' Komplete Edition of Mortal Kombat was the same way earlier this year, so doubling up on achievements in the same game seems to be a thing of the past.

Is the GOTY Edition of Arkham City Worth It?

If you never played Arkham City, the GOTY edition is the one to get since it comes with all of the DLC. If you have Arkham City, the GOTY edition won't save you any money even though you're getting all of the DLC at once. In that case, stick with the original release and pay for the DLC you want a la carte.
