Konami Announces Rock Revolution

Konami today announced Rock Revolution, a music game that lets you play guitar, bass, and drums. Specifically, the drums were noted as being "the most realistic drum peripheral on the market". It is scheduled for release in Fall 2008 on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DS. I'll try to post more details as they become available. UPDATE: Joystiq has a pic of the drum set here.
Is this too little, too late for Konami? With Rock Band already out and Guitar Hero IV's new drum set coming, is there enough room in your living room for another set of plastic instruments? Methinks the genre is getting a bit crowded, and eventually the bubble is going to burst and Rock Revolution is probably going to be the cause.

I am for sure not going to buy this game unless I can use my rock band equiptment. At this point I don’t care how realistic the drum set is. If I wanted it to realistic I would go and buy a drum set not a game. I do think however that these games can and will continue to prosper if they just make all the games compatable with the rock band drum set.
I kind of doubt any of the drums will be compatible with other games. Rock Band is a 5 piece. Guitar Hero IV is a 6 piece. And it looks like Rock Revolution is a 7 piece. All in different configurations of drums and cymbals in weird positions. It would certainly be nice if they all worked, but at this point I’m not betting on it.
It’s going to come down to gameplay with all these companies putting in their bid for our ~$200 that we’ll have to spend for any of the games. What I would like to see is a version that uses a drum kit like the digital ones by Yamaha. On the plus side, we could customize the setup but on the negative it would be WAY more expensive
