Microsoft Announces Gamerscore Rewards

Finally, our Gamerscore means something. Rather than simply being there to make strangers on the internet jealous, Microsoft has just announced a new program that will reward you for increasing your Gamerscore. This first contest is sponsored by Old Spice and tasks you with raising your Gamerscore by 1,500 points between February 12 and April 12. That is 60 days to earn 1,500 points. You can register for participation at Xbox.com/rewards

Prizes are split into three levels, depending on how high your Gamerscore is when the contest starts.

• Level 1 (Gamers who have an annual gamerscore between 0-4,999 at time of entry): Game Picture, Dashboard theme, Contra for Xbox LIVE Arcade
• Level 2 (5,000-9,999 annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 100 Microsoft Points and a contest T-shirt
• Level 3 (10,000+ annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 200 Microsoft Points, contest T-shirt and Fusion Frenzy 2

What this means is that when you register on February 12th, if you have a current Gamerscore of 10,000+, for example, then you are qualified for the level 3 prizes. Then all you have to do is earn 1,500 points within 60 days to claim your prizes. It must be noted, prizes are going to be awarded on a first come, first serve basis, so I would try to earn the 1,500 points ASAP once the contest starts. The contest is only open to US players.

Remember, you have to register at Xbox.com/rewards on or after February 12th.
