Play The Videogame Stock Market With The simExchange
Saturday January 27, 2007
The simExchange is a virtual stock market where instead of trading shares of companies, you trade shares of videogame hardware and software. You can check sales figures, read previews and reviews, and a whole lot of other "research" before you decide what you want to buy. The game is played with phony money, of course, but it is really addictive and fun. My only gripe with it is that there aren't all that many stocks to buy right now. You can buy shares of the Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360 along with a handful of games for each system, but there isn't too much yet. This is a problem that should be easily solved, though, so I can't complain too much.
So far, I'm trying to only buy Xbox 360 stocks, but the limited selection makes that hard. So, alongside Crackdown, BioShock, Forza 2, and Viva Pinata, I have shares in the Nintendo Wii system along with Hotel Dusk: Room 215 for the DS. Overall, this little stock market game is surprisingly addictive, and should only get better with time and I highly recommend you check it out.
