Movies and TV Coming to Xbox Live Marketplace

Tuesday November 7, 2006
Starting on November 22nd, 2006, Xbox 360 owners will be able to download movies and TV shows off of the Xbox Live Marketplace. Prices and potential file sizes were not discussed, but it was revealed that the movies would be for rental but you could own and keep the TV shows.

Many film studios and TV networks have signed on to the service, and when it launches there will be more than 1000 hours of content available. You'll find Adult Swim shows, South Park, Chappelle's Show, UFC fights and episodes of the first season of The Ultimate Fighter, and more TV shows that appeal to the 18-34 male demographic. As far as movies, The Matrix, Superman Returns, Mission: Impossible: III, Nacho Libre, and more will all be available.

How will you fit all of this on your puny 20GB hard drive? You won't have to! It wasn't officially announced, but a bigger hard drive of at least 70GB (most likely it is 100GB but was filled up with stuff) was used at the event and there are screen captures floating around from the event already to prove its existance.
