Are DVDs Big Enough For Next Gen Games?

One of the criticisms many have of the Xbox 360 is its use of standard DVD9 discs rather than a next gen format such as Blu-ray or HD-DVD. More space seems like it would allow for bigger and better games, but GamesFirst! has done a bit of research into the file sizes of some original Xbox games and the results are pretty surprising. They found that games don't necessarily get larger as the generation goes on and also that bigger file sizes don't always mean better games.
